Light Project Regency Design
This project started with coming up with a company brand. Within a small team of 5 we decided that it would be a company focused on looking into repurposing materials and making products that had an industrial or steam punk feel. This was how we were then able to create a group name 'Regency Design' With the standard for each project set, it was then a case of each member producing a light. My chosen design evolved from a toy that opened and closed like a flower when twisted. With an interesting mechanism in mind, the next step was to create a design to accommodate this. The thought evolved into it being a mechanical way of dimming the light and that it would be able to be used in a dinning room. After sourcing parts from numerous locations, electronics from flickering LED candles, the lithium battery and an adapter to charge it from Ebay and jelutong wood from the workshop. all the components were in place to make a working prototype. After a day in the workshop a final prototype was made and tested. There are some changes that i would make before introducing a piece like this to the market however for a quick turn around project I'm rather pleased with the results.
